After two EPs as a trio, Kelly Rose has become the sole face of Uzi Freyja. Her name is a statement of intent, associating a weapon of destruction (Uzi) with the Nordic goddess of love, war, fertility and sex (Freyja). After winning the Prix Chorus des Hauts de Seine 2023, she played at a series of French and European festivals (including Fifty Lab in 2023) but now she returns to ABClub to celebrate the launch of her first solo album ‘Bhelize dont’ Cry’.
Uzi Freyja rouses the crowds by mixing hip-hop vocals, punk fury and experimental electronic structures. Her extraordinary charisma is one of the striking assets of her music: confident, sensual and resolutely powerful. For this new album, expected in January 2025, she emancipated fully and recreated a new artistic family around her. Collabs with Baby Volcano, Béatrice Dalle, Juxe (composer of Nekfeu, Coelho), Carbon Killer (cyperpunk/post-rock figure), Labo Klandestino (Zamdan, Soso Maness) to name a few. The album succeeds in transferring the energy and rage that she releases on stage, but it is live that we must discover all the strenght of this goddess.
