Exhilarating out jazz and challenging soundscapes by key figures of the adventurous music scene
Josh Berman - Chris Corsano - Jason Roebke (US)
On April 23 it will be exactly nine years ago that cornet player and composer Josh Berman – one of the star players of the Chicago scene – was a guest in the Oorstof series Sound in Motion with drummer Paul Lytton and bassist Jason Roebke.
Brand new release Everybody Else’s Life Too (on the renowned label Corbett vs. Dempsey) has Berman ready to surprise us with a burst of exciting jazz again.
Trusted companion Roebke also returns, and master drummer Chris Corsano – active in just about every facet of adventurous music – completes Berman’s dynamic trio.
Giovanni Di Domenico - Tatsuhisa Yamamoto (JP/IT)
Brussel-based Italian pianist/keyboard player Giovanni Di Domenico and Japanese drummer Tatsuhisa Yamamoto share a rich musical history. The driven duo can frequently be found in the good company of Akira Sakata, Jim O’Rourke, Manuel Mota, Eiko Ishibashi or Joe Talia.
-As a duo, Di Domenico and Yamamoto generate a very diverse and challenging musical palette. If Mokusatsu – the fantastic 2022 release for Matière Mémoire – is anything to go by, this live set promises to be another cutting-edge musical escapade.
