Punk 50: Celebrating 50 years of punk
Energetic British post-punk
Punk 50, is AB’s celebration of fifty years of chaos, freedom and bold expression. We honour the rich past, the vibrant present and the future of punk with exhibitions, films, talks, a ‘zine market and a hard-hitting line-up of international icons, Belgian legends and the new generation of punk musicians.
DEADLETTER is an energetic, South London sextet that has been vanguarding the rejuvenation of Albion’s post-punk sound ever since their debut single Good Old Days (2020). They released their acclaimed debut album Hysterical Strength in 2024 via So Recordings and tracks like Mere Mortal, Relieved and More Heat! have earned them space on the playlists of BBC Radio 6 Music.
During their tours of the UK and Europe they proved themselves to be one of the most energetic live bands of the moment. Music blog When the Horn Blows wrote: “A standout of the emerging post-punk renaissance, DEADLETTER retain that punky DIY feel, but colour it with scathing, intellectual political satire, harking to literature, film, and philosophy.”
Essential listening for fans of Gang of Four, The Fall, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem and New York’s No Wave-scene. Those who have seen them live, are already sold.
