Album release by legendary Belgian art-rock band
De Legende is now a legend in reality too, and particularly unique in the Belgian music landscape. The art-rock band has been steering away from every trend or mainstream success ever since 1990. The constant throughout all their releases – from Ten Dans in 1992 to Eerst de nacht, dan de dag in 2013 – is their predilection for eccentric and sometimes absurd lyrics, profound performances and sharp analyses on the fate of a friendly person in an unfriendly world. Belgian surrealism at its finest!
Twelve years after their fantastic previous release, De Legende is to present a new album entitled Ieder zijn geluk at the end of the year. This album allows the gents to demonstrate that their drive and sharpness are as intact as ever. Titles like Rebelse ratten, Wat een leven, Burn-out, Motorzaag and Alles anders set the tone. The band was shamelessly inspired by the ‘80s and some of the heros from back then, such as The Clash, The Ramones, Suicide and especially by themselves, before they were De Legende.
Elusive lyrics, earwormy melodies, and electrifying sounds. Featuring songwriters and founding members Geert Corbeels and Elvis Peeters, original multi-instrumentalist Geert Waegeman and drummer/percussionist Geert Mariën. De Legende presents their new tracks, as well as live classics like Maria wil dansen, Hondenlied, Konijn, Ten Dans and Dodenlied. For those who want to get their heads and feet dancing at the same time.
