Belgian experimental Rock Brut band breaks down barriers and presents an album featuring like-minded artists from Réunion
ConcertThe Wild Classical Music Ensemble brings together musicians with and without disabilities. Their unique sound is a blend of punk/rock riffs, fanatical rhythms and fiery flute and synth flights, over which gravitate multi-voiced, multi-lingual vocals that scratch harshly as much as they comfort. In 2024 they met musicians from the local music scene in Réunion Island, where music is deeply rooted in Maloya and Sega. The adventure continues with the newly formed group Fournèz, which brings together Gilles Lauret (Danyèl Waro), Baptiste Clément (Mouvman alé), and Benjamin Rebolle (Mouvman alé, Alsimi). This artistic and human journey will culminate in 2026 with an album that builds bridges between cultures and peoples, released via Born Bad and Bongo Joe.
The project aims to blend the participants’ diverse relationships with music and language, while snippets of poetry are tenderly exchanged between French and Creole. Singer Françoiz Breut was brought on board to bridge these different linguistic worlds and features on two songs of the album. Vyin mon dalon features Marie Lanfroy from Saodaj and Carlo de Sacco from Grèn sémé.
This concert will take place at Beursschouwburg.
