Electronic compositions + expressive Japanese lyrics = a magical combo
Aili & Orson is a Belgian-Japanese electro-pop duo who have made a name for themselves in recent years, nationally and internationally. Formed in the Belgian alternative club scene and rooted in the nuances of Japanese culture, the duo seamlessly bridges two different worlds. The result is a minimalist and colourful universe in which language barriers dissolve into pure, infectious energy.
The duo is now preparing for their next chapter, a second album planned for release in the spring of 2027. After a chance encounter in 2019, their musical chemistry led to a playful and spontaneous approach to songwriting that blends electronic beats, samples and Aili’s unique Japanese vocals.
Their debut EP Dansu (2021) spent no less than eight weeks at No.1 on the Radio 1 VOX Chart, earned them a nomination for Studio Brussel’s De Nieuwe Lichting, and grabbed the attention of Tokyo-based label TOKA, which then led to the release of a special Japanese edition of the EP.
In 2024, they released their debut album Nandakke? via Eskimo Recordings, an album that combined surreal electro-pop with personal stories about Japanese culture. The album catapulted them onto the international stage: they went straight to No.1 in KCRW’s Top 30 Album Chart in the US, received daily airplay on KEXP, BBC Radio 6 Music and Nova France, and landed in major playlists like Metropolis and Pollen, reaching millions of followers.
In addition to their own sold-out headline shows in Europe and Japan, they also supported L’Impératrice on their tour. In doing so, they brought down the house at iconic venues like L’Olympia in Paris, Melkweg in Amsterdam and Roundhouse in London.
Their characteristic cross-cultural playfulness and boundless energy continues to build the duo an own musical universe. Those who have seen them play live know that their world never disappoints. So BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW AND COME DANSU!
