uwase started making music in her bedroom. Not with the intention of releasing it, but to create a safe space for herself. When her family heard her songs, they said: “If you don’t release them, we’ll leak them ourselves.”

That’s how her debut EP, *Perfect Blue*, was released in 2021, followed by *Pink Skies Ahead* in 2022. After winning Studio Brussel’s *De Nieuwe Lichting* in 2025, she gained national attention for her acclaimed EP *Angelo*. This also earned her a MIA nomination in the ‘Breakthrough’ category in January 2026.

As both a performer and a producer, uwase shapes every aspect of her sound and artistic direction herself. Inspired by producers such as Blood Orange and artists such as Caroline Polachek, she approaches music with a keen eye for detail and atmosphere. Her influences range from contemporary voices such as Phoebe Bridgers and Lorde to the timeless energy of bands such as Phoenix and LCD Soundsystem.

She has just completed the writing, composition and production process for her debut album, due for release in early 2027. Once again, she is collaborating on the project with her co-producer Jasper Segers (Balthazar, Sylvie Kreusch, Oriana Ikomo).

uwase is returning to AB to showcase her music, but this time she’ll be performing at AB Box. Bigger and better.
