Ax and the Hatchetmen from Chicago started out in 2018 as a group of friends at music school, but have since grown into one of the freshest young rock bands around. The six musicians got to know each other whilst studying jazz, but their sound defies easy categorisation, ranging from rock, soul and funk to pop. The genres clash cheerfully with one another. In 2025, their debut album *So Much To Tell You*, produced by Jake Sinclair (Panic! At The Disco, Weezer), was released, featuring, amongst other tracks, the viral hit “Hotel Room”.
