Combo featuring the crème de la crème of the Brussels (jazz)scene presents album
Woolvs Large Ensemble is an art-pop album with strong influences from free jazz, psychedelic and textural music. The LP contains 16 tracks and revolves around the sound of a large group of people, more specifically a collaboration between 23 musicians from the contemporary Brussels music scene. Above all, it brings a message of hope.
Woolvs Large Ensemble‘s sound is inescapably multifaceted: the musicians each explore an other horizon within the worlds of jazz, classical, pop, soul, improvisation, rock, sound art and electronica. The group explores themes of belonging, grief, anger, regret, euphoria and compassion. Songs that balance between hyperrealism and surrealism – about love, war and toadstools – are interwoven with mysterious instrumental abstractions, choral passages and found footage.
