Experimental sounds and literary freedom
Vieze Meisje is the musical manifestation of performance artist Maya Mertens. In 2019, she met Brussels-based producer and composer Azertyklavierwerke. Since then, they have been hosting the Vieze Cirkel together: a club that guarantees “exclusivity for everyone” and strikes a balance between concert, afterparty and cult. Vieze Meisje’s performances are characterised by a raw, physical impact and mantric flow of prose at a high bpm that brings the audience to its knees.
With debut album CUT COPY GUT, Vieze Meisje presents a prosaic feat that sounds like a banner to take up in a chaotic world. Where the EP LIFE IS A VIEZE CIRKEL focused on finding coherence, CUT COPY GUT goes beyond mayonnaise-making and delves into experimental sounds and literary freedom. The album came about together with regular producer Azertyklavierwerke and was mixed and co-produced by Roman Hiele. CUT COPY GUT is a radical embracing of contradiction and the multifaceted experience of being.

Gavin Vanaelst and Jente Waerzeggers zijn Lieve Jongens.
Gavin, a young father, and Jente, recently heartbroken, started sending each other bits of guitar and vocals via WeTransfer.
The result of this three-year process is a self-titled debut album of only 20 minutes. ‘Lieve Jongens’ sounds like a diagonally read diary fragment of a hopelessly in love teenager with an anxiety disorder.
With lyrics culled from internetgekkie compilations and conversations with ex-lovers, the album smells like a delicious mixture of cigarettes and Axe deodorant.
Jente has stopped smoking for 12 days today, and Gavin only drinks water. Lieve Jongens are ready to make Belpop history.
