Brussels flair with a sharp pen
Pierre Mignon – also known as Docteur Peet, Docteur Love, Supra Bawler or Peet for short – is one of the most authentic voices in the Brussels rap world. He became known as a member of the Le 77 collective and he is now walking his own impressive path solo. He’s a typical DIY musician: the rapper slash beatmaker prefers to record everything himself in his own studio.
He has a unique style laced with humour, melancholy and realism, and he manages to bridge the gap between personal experiences and the daily lives of an entire generation effortlessly. His lyrics are honest, raw and poetic – a mirror of the city, life and himself.
In late 2023, he appeared at AB to introduce his album Todo Bien and tore the house down. Since then, he has dropped a new album: À demain, his second album in two years. Following on from Todo Bien with its summery afterparty vibe, the season changes too. The fresh breeze of this spring that never really started fits perfectly with the intimate atmosphere of his new project.
The whole thing feels like a low-tempo journey without speeding tickets, somewhere between the poppy Motel 8 and a bossa-jazzy Samba, evoking memories of a trip to South America in 2012.
Live, Peet certainly has nothing more to prove: every concert is a party thanks to his unique talent, humour and the excellent musicians who back him.
Don’t wait until demain to buy a ticket. Ça va être mignon, c'est promis !
