Since 2015, Liveurope member venues have been participating in Europe Day, highlighting emerging bands from all over Europe. This year, the Ancienne Belgique and the Aéronef in Lille are joining forces to offer 2 days of cross-border celebration through an eclectic selection of bands from here and there

Etienne Jaumet, saxophonist fed on jazz, keyboardist fed on analog synthesizers and head of the trio Zombie Zombie, always between thousand and one projects. At the center, an extra-ordinary companionship that will be unveiled at the Roadburn Festival (Netherlands) on April 23. Arnaud Rebotini will forsake for a while his furious sounds to invent with Etienne Jaumet, at the crossroads of psychedelic music, primitive trance, modal jazz and synthetic krautrock. Between new pieces, covers of their respective repertoires and improvisation. An experimental and sharp side-project very expected. Even Consequence of Sound, the reference in the field, knows it: as soon as Meskerem Mees starts to sing, the magic happens. Just with her voice, her acoustic guitar and Febe Lazou's cello, she delivers a song that turns out to be a little gem of folk-pop. Meskerem finds the right words, sometimes straightforward, sometimes poetic. Songs that (re)give the taste of a folk storytelling, in a vein never dried up explored in their time by Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell. And not to spoil anything, she is the winner of the Grand Jury Prize of Music Moves Europe 2022.

The Haunted Youth is the band formed around Joachim Liebens, from Hasselt. It offers fascinating psychedelic pop, reminiscent of the best of MGMT, DIIV, Slowdive or even The Cure. The tracks - about doubts, hope and what it feels like to be a misunderstood outsider - have a beautifully smooth and international sound that will make you melt. Their first single Teen Rebel is already a hit: The Haunted Youth won the De Nieuwe Lichting competition of Studio Brussel and is being played over and over in Belgium and abroad. Teen Rebel is also attracting attention on the other side of the ocean: it even made the front page of the famous and influential American online magazine Consequence of Sound
