Dorothy Carlos is an experimental cellist who works at the intersection of performance and sound installation. In her work, she makes extensive use of amplification and digital manipulation to challenge conventional ways of playing the cello. She sees electronics as a means of creating alternative realities and explores the boundary between acoustic and synthesised sounds, often deliberately blurring the line between them. Her recordings have been released on labels including 29 Speedway, Random Man Editions and D.O.T. Audio Arts.

Pianist, improviser and composer Alister Spence has been regarded as a leading figure in contemporary improv music in Australia, and further afield, for more than three decades. He has an impressive track record, having worked with numerous internationally renowned musicians and artists, including Satoko Fujii, Ed Kuepper (The Saints), Lloyd Swanton & Tony Buck (The Necks), Myra Melford, Natsuki Tamura and Jim O’Rourke.
