Presentation of new album 'Q&A With Myself'
Why are there no playgrounds for adults? It’s a thing Tom Van Laere, the man behind Admiral Freebee, genuinely wonders about. A place where you don’t have to think about anything for a while and can play freely, just raw fun! It’s the same feeling he had when concluding last year’s anniversary tour for his classic debut album: this joy of playing with the band, let’s hold on to that. Let’s go straight back to the rehearsal room and studio and play from the gut. Strap on a guitar, foot on the pedal and go. The result? Ten tracks that will hit the shelves as an album next spring, and a single right now to tantalize the tastebuds, Q&A With Myself. An uptempo, groovy rock track just under 3 minutes, with upbeat guitars and synths and a handful of well-aimed HEYs accompanied by imaginary air punches. Happy-go-lucky, that’s what Admiral Freebee’s playground sounds like, while thematically the song could be about ghosting:
Questions, I have a few
Answers I have none
The only thing I know is that I know nothing
The only thing I want is for you to come back home
Q&A With Myself precedes Admiral Freebee’s eighth studio album and follow-up to 2021’s The Gardener. The new album will be out in the spring of 2026, and on April 30th the band will be playing AB. People that were there towards the end of the anniversary tour last year, know that Admiral Freebee & AB is an electrifying combination.
