Launch of new album 'Q&A With Myself'
Why aren’t there any playgrounds for adults? Tom Van Laere, aka Admiral Freebee, genuinely wonders about this. A place where you can just hang out and play without a care in the world – pure fun.
It’s with that same feeling that he concluded the anniversary tour for his timeless debut album last year: the playing pleasure with the band is what they wanted to preserve. So straight back into the rehearsal room and studio they went, playing with that gut feeling. Guitar strapped on, foot on the pedal, and gooooooo!
The result? Ten tracks that will appear in album form early next year, and a single now already – to tickle those tastebuds, Q&A With Myself. An up-tempo, groovy rock track of just under three minutes, with danceable guitars and synths, and a few well-placed HEY’s accompanying imaginary air punches.
Carefree, that’s the sound of Admiral Freebee’s playground, while the lyrics could be about ghosts: “Questions, I have a few / Answers I have none / The only thing I know is that I know nothing / The only thing I want is for you to come back home”.
Q&A With Myself announces the arrival of Admiral Freebee’s eighth studio album, the successor to The Gardener from 2021. The album will be out in early 2026. On April 30, the band will be at AB again.
Those who were there last year, at the end of the anniversary tour, know that the Admiral Freebee and AB combo creates sparks.
