AB’s festival for hip-hop from the Low Countries
Whether you’re a seasoned hip-hop head or are only just getting into the genre, Rapsalon is the spot to immerse yourself in the raw and authentic world of Dutch-language hip-hop.
The first generation of rappers from the Low Countries thought they had to copy American hip-hop icons in order to be credible. But we’ve known since the early ‘90s – when Osdorp Posse broke through in The Netherlands and 't Hof Van Commerce & ABN did so in Belgium – that rapping in one’s own language need not be inferior to hip-hop in English. Quite the opposite! These days, the charts are full of unique Dutch-language rap.
