A night of celebration, community and pride
In an ideal world, there would be no need for safe spaces for certain communities. The entire world should be a place where everyone feels safe. But until that’s the case, AB likes to do its bit to organise events where everyone can be themselves, without having to look over their shoulder.
That’s why we’ve been organising OUTRAGEOUS for several years now: an event with talks and music that also aims to be a place where you feel safe(er). A place for people who sometimes face discrimination, a spot for people who often feel underrepresented and misunderstood, inside or outside of the world of LGBTQIA+ activism.
Through a radical musical programme, OUTRAGEOUS proves what the power of art is: to generate visibility, engagement, and recognition. OUTRAGEOUS is a place for community and celebration. A place where everyone can proudly be themselves.

On the eve of The Belgian Pride
It’s no coincidence that we organise OUTRAGEOUS the night before The Belgian Pride, an event that is deeply rooted in protest & activism and that developed over the years to become a megaphone for the LGBTQIA+ community. Through OUTRAGEOUS, AB zooms in on the (in)visibility and the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community too.
To do this, we have already worked with Psst Mlle (an intersectional feminist platform that fights for more inclusion and visibility of FINTA artists), Simomo Bouj (a Belgian-Moroccan queer artiest and curator) and FATSABBATS (a Brussels-based organisation that provides LGBTQIA+ POC* communities with a supportive and inclusive space).
