Come swing along with Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra
Music master Jools Holland needs little introduction. We already know him from the phenomenal, and still very popular, BBC music program Later⌠with Jools Holland and the annual Hootenanny show on New Yearâs eve, or from his band Squeeze with whom he had various hits in the â70s, or from that phenomenal piano solo on The Theâs âUncertain Smileâ, or from the many collaborations with artists like George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Sting, BB King, The Fine Young Cannibals⌠the list goes on.
Since the early â80s, Jools has also been releasing albums with his big band and has toured the world with them. His concerts always turn into true musical feasts, where the audience is treated to the most exciting R&B, Boogiewoogie, Blues and Ska music.
On May 2, Jools and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra are coming to present their latest album â fresh from the press â and past experience has us anticipating a fabulous feast! The album â âSwing Feverâ, released on February 23 â is a collaboration with Sir Rod Steward; a collection of timeless swing classics, reimagined with a unique flair and energy... a brilliant tribute to the golden years of the Big Band. The Telegraph (â â â â â) has already called the album âutterly joyous,â and wrote: âThey may well be in golden oldies territory with this new album â but the pair are clearly having the time of the[sic] lives.â Dig! further states: âBoth respectful and inventive, âSwing Feverâ finds Rod Stewart and Jools Holland adding a new chapter to the Great American Songbook.â
