AB, VI.BE and Cassette for Timescapes screened the episode on parenthood in the AB Club. In this episode, artist Charlotte Adigéry plays a central role, during Belgian Music Week.
Her pregnancy could not have come at a worse time. Desperately searching for other examples in the music industry, she embarks on a tour of the UK with her baby.
But is there a ‘right’ time to start having children? Does the decision to have children always have to feel like giving up our career opportunities? What adjustments are required to make the music business more child-friendly? In short, is there room for parenthood in the sector?
These are a lot of questions, and together with a range of panellists as well as the audience, we will try to find the answers and solutions. We will start the evening with the screening followed by an interactive panel discussion with moderator Marianne Cattoir and panelists Selah Sue, Porcelain id, Jarri Van Der Haegen (manager Charlotte Adigéry) and Marjan Reynders (Pukkelpop, HAJEE!). Rewatch the talk now!
She They Us is a production of the Ghent production house Cassette for Timescapes and was directed by Zaïde Bil, Sam Peeters and Heleen Declercq.
This event is held in partnership with VI.BE as part of Belgian Music Week.
