On ‘Jean’, dedicated to her late grandmother, Yebba’s impressive voice balances between controlled power and pure vulnerability.
Yebba, born Abigail Elizabeth Smith in West Memphis (Arkansas), grew up with gospel music and sang in her father’s church as a child. Those spiritual roots still form the beating heart of her music. With her powerful, emotionally charged voice, she effortlessly combines fire and vulnerability. She became known to the wider public through her YouTube channel and her striking appearance on Saturday Night Live alongside Chance the Rapper.
On Saturday 5 September, she will present her album at AB and tickets are still available.
