Warhaus unveils “Simple Pleasures” today, a lead single confirming the release of ‘The Donkey’, his fifth studio album. With this, he also announces a new European tour which will, of course, include a stop here.
 
It takes just a few notes to recognise Warhaus. Since 2016’s ‘We F****d a Flame Into Being’, Maarten Devoldere’s solo project has forged a distinctive identity, somewhere between sophisticated pop, melancholy and darkness. He continued along these lines with ‘Warhaus’ (2017), ‘Ha Ha Heartbreak’ (2022) and ‘Karaoke Moon’ in 2024. With ‘The Donkey’, however, the artist seems ready to push boundaries and explore a more instinctive direction. In collaboration with his long-standing partner and producer Jasper Maekelberg, Warhaus delves deeper into electronica, featuring dark synths, trip-hop influences and tribal rhythms inspired by South African Gqom. Following the atmospheric and unsettling teaser ‘The Baby’, which he treated us to last August, he now presents ‘Simple Pleasures’: a debut single that transports you into a feverish nocturnal dream. With this, Warhaus reveals a new, elegant, sensual and danceable side to his artistic journey, yet always retaining that characteristic, slightly strange undertone that defines his universe.
