At the age of thirty, Pomme is embarking on a new chapter with *La Forteresse*, her fifth album, for which she has, for the first time, taken sole artistic charge. Surrounded by her fellow musicians, she has created an intimate yet ambitious work.

The album unfolds in four chapters: childhood, love and trauma, crossing the wall, and finally arriving on the other side, all driven by a fictional creature that is half-human, half-bat. Once taken in by humans, she has lived locked away for centuries in a fortress until she decides to scale its walls.

Pomme has immersed herself in medieval folklore, the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, the musicals of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand, the performances of La Horde and Peeping Tom, as well as the films of Miyazaki.
Blending stripped-back folk, richer arrangements and influences ranging from the medieval to the cinematic and dreamlike, Pomme tackles personal and societal issues head-on: her difficult start in the music industry, the loneliness of the outsider, exhaustion linked to hyperactivity, the symbolic milestone of turning thirty, ecological anxiety, and contemporary models of romance.
