Fair is fair: it’s been far too long since Guido Belcanto was on stage at AB again. And that while pretty much every AB visit by the King of Broken Hearts was outright memorable. Especially his visit in the ◄◄ REWIND series – when he performed his debut Op Zoek Naar Romantiek in its entirety – was one we will always remember. That dEUS, Jan De Wilde, Girls in Hawaii and Wim Mertens also performed in this series, proves what a class act Belcanto is.

Belcanto expressed his wish to have his brand new album Tedere Baldadigheden premièred at AB. And see: a wish we are only too happy to grant. Tedere Baldadigheden is once again vintage Belcanto, with song titles like Seks op vreemde plaatsen, Ik wil mezelf bedanken and Alzheimer Blues. Titles that only Belcanto could come up with. Standing out are the Dutch-language interpretations of That Look You Give That Guy, an Eels song, and La Médaille by his idol Renaud. Also memorable: visits by the likes of Lara Chedraoui (Intergalactic Lovers) and The Bonnie Blues.
