Brussels rapper puts out new EP, new energy and new sound
ELES is not your average rapper. His stutter made communication challenging, but through rap he found the freedom to share his unfiltered story, feelings and thoughts. What started as a search for a voice in a world where speaking didn’t come naturally developed into a unique musical sound.
ELES’ lyrics take a critical look at today’s world, where man and nature seem to be growing increasingly further apart. He puts that disconnect into words with a sharp and sensitive pen. His style balances between poetry and reality, between melody and message. Don’t expect classic rap: ELES plays with sounds, phrases and feelings, and does so with disarming honesty.
He’s already performed on stage as support act for the likes of Tourist LeMC and Freddie Konings, and until early 2025 he was a part of the radio collective Moedertaal, a platform that he co-founded to give Belgian hip-hop the voice that it deserves.
When you listen to ELES, you hear an artist who had to find his own way, but now sounds more powerful than ever. This is clearly to be heard on his latest EP 'Schulp'. By literally and figuratively coming out of his shell, he went in search of a new sound, he experimented and he pushed his limits. The result? A unique musical experience that is simultaneously raw, reflective and refreshing. This release marks a new chapter in his journey as an artist and as a person.
‘Schulp’ is a project with a message. An honest, personal and musical mirror in a world that never stands still.
