After the internationally acclaimed ‘Topical Dancer’, the duo is back with ‘Mainland Madinina’
ConcertCharlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul are embarking on a new chapter. Following their internationally acclaimed ‘Topical Dancer’, the duo return with ‘Mainland Madinina’, an album created between Belgium and Martinique and once again co-produced by Soulwax.
With their unique blend of electro-pop, house, synth-pop and post-punk, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul have emerged in recent years as one of Belgium’s most striking acts. Their sharp, humorous and socially critical approach has earned them praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian and BBC 6 Music, whilst they have conquered stages ranging from Glastonbury and Sónar to the Pitchfork Festival Chicago and ‘Later… with Jools Holland’.
On *Mainland Madinina*, they broaden their horizons. Themes such as grief, parenthood, migration and colonial legacies run like a common thread through an album that sounds both personal and adventurous. The emotional openness of Adigéry’s strongest vocal performances to date goes hand in hand with the playful, defiant energy that makes the duo so beloved.
Anyone who has seen Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul perform live knows that their concerts are much more than just a gig: they are exuberant celebrations in which urgency, humour, danceability and unexpected twists come together effortlessly. In February 2027, they will be presenting their new album during a new international tour.
