AB’s Youth Laboratory
Youth l'AB offers a group of multi-talented Brussels youngsters the chance to immerse themselves in the workings of AB so that they can become familiar with all aspects of a cultural house. ‘A musical Brussels heart in the right place’ is the most important requirement.
The selected Youth l’AB-bers have an entire year’s time, space and support to develop according to their own personal interests and vision for the future. Depending on what they want to achieve, they can work with the promo, programming or production teams, for example. They are not only guided by the AB team but also by now seasoned ‘Youth l'AB-bers from previous editions.
With my experience in Youth l’AB I hope to learn more about the production of concerts and appreciate the whole process more. From stage preparations to promotion and sound design!
Youth l’AB is a creative and exuberant experiment from which AB itself also learns a lot. The collaboration with these enthusiastic Gen Z-ers provides a critical perspective on our daily operations. Youth l’AB broadens AB’s horizons and that breath of fresh air is refreshing.
Concluding with a BANG: an own festival
After the Youth l’AB-bers have soaked up an entire year’s worth of knowledge and experiences like a sponge, it’s time to present their creations and knowledge to the general public. They wrap up their experiment at AB with a BANG! An own festival. The youngsters organise it themselves, from beginning to end.
