On Saturday 11 April, we’re celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Portuguese label Príncipe, featuring DJ Danifox, DJ Narciso and Helviofox.

Pitchfork: “The label specialises in a high-energy amalgam of African dance styles known as batida.” In other words: contemporary techno and house infused with Angolan genres such as uptempo kuduro and more sensual styles like kizomba (Angola) and tarraxinha beats.

Príncipe says it remains “fully dedicated to releasing 100% real contemporary dance music coming out of Lisbon, its suburbs, projects & slums.”
