People radiate a magnetic feeling when they do something they’re passionate about.
Inevitably, they invite people to join them because that energy is highly contagious, it makes you want to be part of that journey too.
For artists, there are so many ways to share their craft and let people into their world.
It makes me think about Laryssa Kim’s masterclass, where she talked very fervently about het practice in acousmatic music. I have to admit, I had no idea what that was, but her excitement and knowledge, had me research everything about the topic for hours.
Maybe that’s less of a community in the strict sense of the word, but there still is a sense of belonging and common interests that connects all the people in that room.

A couple of days ago, the second workshop series of Night Lab by Blck Mamba came to an end.
This project has been a constant since we first opened the Lab, so it deserved a good end of season. All the alumni came together and invited their friends and family to dance at their DJ set, the first ever for some of them!
Blck Mamba felt the need to have a space where she could share her passion and expertise with others who feel a strong attraction to DJing but hadn’t had the chance to explore it yet.
Recently we also had a collective talk about the need to preserve FLINTA* night life spaces, so seeing that the public was for the most part women, was beautiful.

Soon we will host the second edition of Aladar’s Impro ‘Night, an event where all types of musicians come together to jam and step out of their comfort zone.
The first edition was so fun and freeing. A community coming together to support each other in their artistic endeavors, with no judgement.
I’m very excited about the next one!
