For decades, people have found their way to AB through music. For unforgettable concerts by their favourite artists, in our iconic red hall. But music has never stopped at the edge of our stages. It lives in artists finding their voice and communities finding each other. In those eager to learn, the night owls and the early birds. In exploration and curiosity. On the local radios and in the youth of Brussels creating freely.
Today, we’re embracing that idea more openly than ever.

This concert season, AB is evolving from a concert hall into an open music venue. With the new wing on Steenstraat / Rue des Pierres, featuring an additional concert space and new community areas, the expanded talent development programme (AB Lab), and the future music café, there’s now even more room for connection, discovery and experimentation.
Meet AB Salon, AB Antenna and AB Rooftop
These new spaces allow us to broaden what happens at AB. Alongside the concerts you know and love, there is now room for workshops, community activities, experimentation and talent development.
Little by little, we’re opening up AB as a place you can step into throughout the whole day. Maybe you come for a club night. Maybe you join a soundscape and paint workshop in AB Antenna or drop by the future AB Café for a music quiz. Maybe, one day, you find yourself on stage in AB Salon after a residency of your own.
Home of Music is a belief that music – especially live music – fosters connection and bridges divides. A belief that our spaces can be a haven for Brussels and the wider music community: a place that supports talent, keeps its finger on society’s pulse and unites people through music.
Housewarming
To celebrate this new chapter in style, AB is hosting a five-day housewarming event. From Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 September, you can visit the new spaces for a wide range of musical activities. Consider it a microcosm of what our new home can be.
