Mechelen-based sludge/post-metal band Pothamus was formed in 2013 by Michael Lombarts, Mattias M. Van Hulle and Sam Coussens. What mainly characterises them is their atmospheric mix of repetitive riffs, soaring drone and tribal percussion. The music explores deeper meanings inspired by Eastern philosophy and Western esotericism, creating an enchanting experience beyond the mundane.
