Shabaka, Ezra Collective and four more acts you won’t want to miss.
You like your music a little outside the mainstream. Discovering an artist you’ve never heard of is all part of the fun. As long as the vibe is right, you’re in. Brussels may have been hot and heavy this summer, but now you can’t wait for cosy autumn evenings, new music and plenty of reasons to get out and keep those winter blues at bay. Your calendar is already filling up, but there’s always room for one more night out. If that sounds like you, here are six AB shows worth putting on your radar.
Chicos y Mendez
On 19 September, Chicos y Mendez returns to AB with Latidos, a brand new album packed with warm Latin alternative pop about love, connection and resistance. For the occasion, the Belgian-Peruvian band will bring along the “queen of Quechua rap”, Renata Flores, making her highly anticipated Belgian debut. ¡Vamos!
Shabaka
After a brief sax-free spell, Shabaka returns to AB on 25 September with Of The Earth, an experimental record where punk, jazz and dance happily collide. The London saxophonist is no stranger to AB, having previously sold out shows with Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming. This time, he sounds freer than ever. Expect an electrifying live show that throws genre boundaries out the window.
Fatoumata Diawara
One of Africa’s most captivating voices comes to AB on 24 November, and she’s bringing her new album Massa with her! On her most personal record to date, Malian artist Fatoumata Diawara sings about love, family, loss and resilience. On stage, she’s simply an irresistible force. Expect pure, deeply moving energy.
Susobrino
After his sold-out AB show in 2024, Susobrino finally returns on 29 January 2027, this time with a cumbia-inspired album and a show in the Main Hall. He reimagines the genre with his trademark blend of acoustic and electronic sounds, topped off with some unexpected features. Get ready for a steamy Friday night that carries on into the afterparty.
Camille Yembe
Brussels-based Camille Yembe creates an intense blend of soul, alternative pop and R&B that hits you right in the feels. On her impressive debut album Jeune & Laide, she reveals herself as both vulnerable and fiercely defiant. She promises to bring that same intimacy to the AB stage on 3 February 2027.
Ezra Collective
After an unforgettable appearance at Couleur Café and the announcement of a new album, Ezra Collective sold out AB in no time on 16 February 2027. So naturally, we’ve added a second show on 17 February. For more than a decade, the British band has been proving that jazz is anything but boring. Quite the opposite: their music bursts with energy, effortlessly weaving together jazz, Afrobeat, hip-hop and soul.
And there you have it: six reasons to make your schedule even busier. Fancy more? Discover our full autumn calendar packed with concerts, workshops, and festivals here.
