The GOLDEN DREGS is in essence the project and brainchild of English songwriter Benjamin Woods. His vocals – drenched in whisky and cloaked in a shroud of longing, loss and regret – are immediately reminiscent of Leonard Cohen and Stuart Staples (Tindersticks). In other words, good folk. His lyrics are always deeply personal, filled with longing & melancholy and oozing poetic vision. The proof: ‘On Grace & Dignity’, their third album, soon to be released on the prestigious 4AD label (see too: Aldous Harding, Perfume Genius,…).
