Last autumn, AB and KVS joined forces for a unique (sold-out) two-day residence with ‘one of the greatest songwriters alive’: Bill Callahan. Callahan visited just four European capitals as well as KVS in Brussels. That left us wanting more, so AB and KVS have arranged a repeat of this tour de force with two extraordinary concerts.
To call Beverly Glenn-Copeland ‘unique’ would be quite the understatement. This 81-year-old ‘synth folk pioneer and transgender icon’ (Pitchfork) rarely appears at European music venues. Meanwhile, Adrian Younge – described by Wu-Tang Clan member RZA as ‘a modern-day Quincy Jones’ – has spent years working on his ‘dream come true’. Younge: “The Something About April Tour is the show I've always dreamed of bringing to life. It’s been fifteen years in the making.”
It's with great pride that AB & KVS introduce these phenomenal artists:
WEDNESDAY 29 OCTOBER 2025 – 20:00
BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND W/ SPECIAL GUEST ELIZABETH COPELAND
“A synth folk pioneer and transgender icon” (Pitchfork)
Canadian singer-songwriter Beverly Glenn-Copeland has an impressive array of fans, including Robyn, Devendra Banhart, Romy (The xx), Sam Smith & Caribou! This recognition has been a long time coming. His gripping début Beverly Copeland dates back to 1970 and Keyboard Fantasies, his (ambient) 1986 pièce de resistance, will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year. It wasn’t until the 21st century that his work was (re)discovered and truly appreciated. When Keyboard Fantasies was reimagined in 2021, artists such as Bon Iver and Arca were lining up to collaborate. The album’s original re-release in 2020 had already won the Polaris Heritage prize, which is awarded to ‘Classic Canadian Albums’. Previous winners include Neil Young and Feist. His latest album The Ones ahead was internationally showered with praise: “Another mysterious milestone performed in an amplified emotional register.” (The Irish Times).
Glenn will be joined by a special guest: none other than theatre maker and other half (they married in 2006) Elizabeth Copeland. They share a belief in ‘the power of art to change lives’.
THURSDAY 30 OCTOBER 2025 – 20:00
ADRIAN YOUNGE W/ A 10 PIECE ORCHESTRA (US):
“He’s a genius. He’s like a modern-day Quincy Jones.” (RZA, Wu-Tang Clan)
Producer x composer x multi-instrumentalist Adrian Younge described himself on Facebook as ‘the next generation of soul music’. He may have a point, as his music has a special kind of authenticity, and wouldn’t be out of place in the 60s or 70s – the golden age of funk & soul. It’s reminiscent of blaxploitation soundtracks, Marvin Gaye and ‘funkateers on the one’, with all the fun of the JBs and The Meters. His music has been sampled by Kendrick Lamar as well as Jay-Z, and together with former A Tribe Called Quest member Ali Shaheed Muhammad he runs the ultra-cool label Jazz is Dead.
Younge’s discography is approaching 50 (!) releases, but he considers his magnum opus to be the trilogy Something About April. For Adrian Younge, this tour is a dream come true: “The show I've always dreamed of bringing to life. Fifteen years in the making, it’s my magnum opus.” And how! Adrian Younge’s psychedelic soul trilogy will be performed with a 10-piece ensemble.
