AB runs on energy: the energy on stage, in the crowd, in the shared moments between artist and audience. But behind the scenes, there’s another kind of energy; the energy that AB runs on. Bolt, a Brussels-based sustainable energy platform, provides that energy. AB and Bolt are now joining forces in a sustainable partnership, proving that culture can be a powerful driver for change.
This isn’t the first collaboration between Bolt and AB. In March 2023, we launched a successful joint crowdfunding campaign to install solar panels on the roof of the AB building. Thanks to a bunch of enthusiastic AB visitors, we raised a very impressive €127,000. The result? A reduction of 41 tonnes in our annual CO2 emissions and an energy surplus that we share with seven homes in our neighbourhood, via Bolt.
We also collaborated with Bolt during our summer festivals to create a greener music industry. During Boterhammen In Het Park and Feeërieën, green energy was provided by a large solar panel installation at the entrance, powering the intimate solar sessions performed by artists including Porcelain id and S10.
Bolt and AB become official partners
Now, we’re going one step further by launching an official partnership with Bolt. This collaboration is about more than just energy: AB and Bolt have a shared vision of a fairer, greener future in which people make conscious, informed decisions. We have many more initiatives in mind to improve the sustainability of our concert hall, the music sector and the impact of our audience.
