Remy van Kesteren grew to become an established name on classical concert stages in record time, yet decided to take a different course. His love of the classical repertoire remains the point of departure but the harpist now also makes pop music, inspired by the pop festivals and live concerts in clubs that he has attended.

Produced by British producer, songwriter and DJ Fink, van Kesteren released his first album Shadows in 2019. This was followed by several releases of his own, including the Home Studio Sessions with covers of Radiohead and Rosalía, amongst others.

The journey that van Kesteren charts for himself and his audience is contemporary, challenging and adventurous. You can hear influences from pop, rock, post minimal and jazz in his music. He rarely shies away from taking risks.

This autumn he presents his brand new album Muses in AB – named after the nine muses of ancient Greek mythology. Van Kesteren explores his musical inspirations and the composers that have had a major influence on his work, including Kendrick Lamar, Thom Yorke and Aphex Twin. “I’m hugely looking forward to bringing this music to life in the legendary AB Club, with my harp, of course, but also synths, loops and effects”, he lets us know in advance.
