4 bands, 1 (female) fist!
AB’s Punk 50 celebrates years of chaos, freedom and unadulterated expression. We honour the rich past, vibrant present and future of punk with exhibitions, films, talks, a ‘zine market and a fierce line-up of international icons, Belgian legends and the new generation of punk musicians. This evening is curated by Aurélie Poppins (ex-Cocaine Piss).
Cimitero is a raw hardcore punk band from Italy, known for their dark, intense “candlelight punk”. With Alice on vocals and Mat on guitar and bass, they deliver us fierce, moody songs full of dark energy. Their release Il Culto della Carogna (2024) reinforces their uncompromising mix of speed, darkness and hardcore power.
The band is known for their sharp D-beat, aggressive riffs and a DIY attitude that makes them stand out in the Italian underground. Live, Cimitero is a ritual storm: cold, loud and unforgettable.
Blitzer is an energetic punk trio from Leipzig, known for their angular garage riffs and a weird no-wave-ish sound that, according to aficionados, “makes you succumb in 15 seconds”. The band builds on a raw, spontaneous sound that embraces punk and garage and experimental edges.
In 2023, they released their first single My Bad Place, followed by the debut album The Dead Knock at Your Door which was jam-packed with high-energy tracks. Blitzer toured Europe with the EP Dumb and is known for their live shows, which are as intense as they are irresistible.
Flux
Flux is an Antwerp hardcore band that translates the spirit of UK 82 with astonishing authenticity: fast, aggressive, full of raw and rebellious charisma. They deliver tightly structured punk that grabs you by the throat from the very first seconds, bursting with urgency and emotional intensity. Their sound balances between abrasive guitars, primitive, uncompromising drums and hoarse vocals that intertwine perfectly with compact, concise song structures.
Flux combines pure energy with smart simplicity: each track is sharp, stripped of frills and written for maximal impact, both on the album and in the pit. The result is a band that exudes both the raw aggression of the British, early ‘80s hardcore and establishes a contemporary, driven identity of its own. An explosive mix that keeps you coming back for more.
Habenmeuf are four friends from Liège – Salomé, Irène, Sacha and Usha – who started making music in a childhood bedroom without really knowing how to, much to the annoyance of their neighbours, but were good enough for a first show at the Mead House Festival.
Since then, they’ve skillfully blown away venues like La Zone, Kultura, Casa Nicaragua, KAFC and Magasin 4. Influences like riot grrrl, egg punk and punk farfelu have them delivering us a cheerfully chaotic, expressive live show where you don’t have to understand everything, its all about the vibe. Du punk, des meufs et de la bière, nondidju!
The concert of Cimitero and Blitzer are Liveurope concerts. LivEurope is the first pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote emerging European artists. Liveurope is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
