NECTAR WOODE
Nectar Woode grew up in a home with a rich musical soundtrack, ranging from Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu to Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. Artists who taught her that soul isn’t just a genre, but a deeply felt emotion. That same emotional honesty resonates today in her own music.

In 2022, Nectar released her debut EP Nothing to Lose via Communion Records, a first introduction to her understated yet powerful sound. Tracks like Good Vibrations and Other Side strike an effortless balance of neo-soul, folk, jazz and gospel. Her warm voice, poetic lyrics and organic productions quickly earned her a loyal fanbase and millions of streams.

In 2024, she followed up with Head Above Water, a self-assured release on which Nectar delves even deeper into jazz and soul. Songs like Tell a lil lie, Grow and How It’s Gotta Be show us an artist who is steadily defining her own sound: vulnerable, honest and yet grand in feeling. Her music spread itself organically, from intimate solo guitar performances to sold-out headline shows in London and support tours for Leon Bridges and NAO.

Today, at the age of 25, Nectar Woode has become exactly the kind of artist who honours her roots, both geographically and culturally. With over 815,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, major summer festivals in sight and fans ranging from Elton John to the BBC, her career is well and truly flourishing.

She doesn’t need to shout to be heard – instead, she gently invites you into her world. Her music is deeply personally yet universally relatable. She reminds us that vulnerability can also be a strength: “I love connection, I love building a community that is based on honesty.”
