Tenth anniversary of ‘The Good Fight’
Born Amir el Khalifa in Washington D.C. into a family with a Sudanese father and an Afro-American mother, rapper and producer Oddisee already witnessed glaring inequality from an early age. This awakened his political awareness and formed the basis of his artistic work.
Oddisee is a part of the DMV scene, known for hip-hop in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) areas. A gifted MC and performer, he makes soulful hip-hop enriched by jazz and funk. In his lyrics, he approaches the human condition with unwavering conviction and open-heartedness.
He intentionally chose his own path from the outset, far from the musically well-trodden paths of record contracts and big business. He took charge of all facets: from recording to producing and mixing to setting up marketing strategies and organising tours. After five releases and countless shows worldwide with his five-member backing-band Good Compny, he’s forged a solid international recognition and fame.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of his highly acclaimed album The Good Fight, Oddisee & Good Compny head through Europe with a festive jubilee tour that has one stop in Brussels. Expect powerful vocals, touching tales, a warm and jazzy hip-hop sound, all the tracks on The Good Fight and many other hits too, of course.
