Focus on melody in rhythm or rather rhythm in melody
Gloom Club invites you to discover Dionyssia: a brand new electronic music alter ego of Brussels-based artist Lander Gyselinck, widely known for his work as a drummer and producer in live projects such as Lander & Adriaan, STUFF., KVR, Ragini Trio and his solo recording project Hihats In Trees.
With a focus on melody in rhythm, asymmetric beat structures, and a colorful, digital sonic palette, Dionyssia dwells in the memory of ’90s trance while simultaneously deconstructing and reconstructing the raw energy of club music heritage. Dionyssia walks a tightrope between vaporwave surrealism, fractured future pop, glitchy digital dreamscapes, and the dense rhythmic legacies of four decades of underground dance and electronic music culture.
These electronic explorations began as early as 2016, culminating in 2026 with Dionyssia’s debut album, One. With the release of this five-track debut One, Dionyssia marks the beginning of a series of releases that form the concluding chapter of Lander Gyselinck’s PhD in arts research at KASK (Ghent), tracing the evolving space where instrumental drum culture meets the digital architecture of EDM.
One will be released on April 23, 2026 via the Japanese non-profit label Mizuha 罔象, run by the Tokyo-based DJ collective Minna-no-kimochi.
To mark the release of this 24-minute expressive musical Dionyssia invites you to a cosy pre-release listening session at AB Salon, accompanied by a short Q&A hosted by Gloom Club.
