Free Dutch music festival at Brussels Park
Boterhammen In Het Park is a musical luncheon at Brussels Park, right in the front garden of the King and Queen. This free festival has become a fixed value in the last week of August. From Monday to Friday you can enjoy Dutch-speaking music at noon, accompanied by a sandwich and - hopefully - some sunshine.
Get comfy on the wooden benches amidst the true Brusselians, casual passers-by, public servants who descend from their surrounding offices and day tourists with kids looking to squeeze everything out of the summer holidays. It’s the ideal lunch spot for everyone who planned a day trip to Brussels.
Dutch-speaking super talents in a majestic kiosk
Every festival day we welcome one or two Dutch-speaking acts to our enchanting kiosk which is surrounded by ancient trees. Established artists such as Raymond van het Groenewoud, Bart Peeters, Liesbeth List, Kommil Foo, Clouseau, Spinvis and Bram Vermeulen have all played the stage before, but AB also loves to promote young talents. Think of Zwangere Guy, Eefje De Visser, Merol and Pommelien Thijs who have all played unforgettable sets at Boterhammen In Het Park.

Don’t fancy going home or getting behind your desk again after Boterhammen In Het Park? Stay! You can hang around at Bar Chaud . There you can participate in all sorts of free workshops or you can just chill out with your mates or kids. And if you do decide to stick around at Brussels Park, be sure to snatch up our free evening festival Feeërieën. That way you’ve really gotten everything out of your day and you can return home with a full heart.
We’ve always made sure artists get the feeling they’re playing in their own backyard: very laid-back and with good food.
A festival for everyone
AB believes that truely everyone should be able to enjoy shows, so each day there are sign language interpreters who will interpret the music for deaf and hearing-impaired visitors. They’ll do this with so much energy and soul, you could mistake them for being the main act.
From the park to the city and back
Boterhammen In Het Park has been a Brusselian tradition since 1989. Due to maintenance works on Brussels Park and the kiosk, the open air event has had to move to the Spanish Square for a few years and later - during COVID-19 - to Tour & Taxis. Our loyal audience did follow, but as of last year we are relieved to be back in the oldest park of Brussels.
An oasis in between the power points of Brussels,
Are you coming too?
You’ll find Brussels Park uptown in the city centre of Brussels, between the federal parliament and the Royal Palace, surrounded by trams, metros, buses and trains.
