In the budding BRDCST past, working-class heroes Sleaford Mods, Ugandan electronica label Nyege Nyege Tapes, and grande dame Tirzah presented inspiring programmes while pushing the BRDCST buttons as curators. This year, no less than three curators – Anna von Hausswolff, Backxwash, and Colin Stetson – will present their line-up over just as many days. Exciting!  

Anna von Hausswolff presents three artists close to her heart on Friday 4 April – BRDCST’s opening night.

CM von Hausswolff

Anna Von Hausswolff’s musicality was lovingly instilled in childhood by her father Carl Michael von Hausswolff, an avant-garde sound artist and a leading figure in the field of performance audio and radical music. She’s repaying the favour by offering her father a spot at BRDCST. CM von Hausswolff is also known as King Michael l, co-founder of the micronation The Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland - google it! - with about 1,000 ‘residents’, including … Anna von Hausswolff.

Filip Leyman

Swedish musician, composer and producer Filip Leyman is present on pretty much all of Anna von Hausswolff’s releases, whether as producer, synth wizard or percussionist. He also works/worked on the drone project BADA alongside Anna Von Hausswolff: “Filip Leyman is a longtime collaborator of mine, and he will release his debut album on my label Pomperipossa Records. It’ll be his debut show.”

Lansana Sane + Malick Diebate

A surprising but more than justified choice: Lansana Sane + Malick Diebate is a Senegalese duo that has brought traditional Senegalese kora music to Hausswolf’s birth city of Gothenburg. Anna: “They’re equally good musicians and it will be absolutely mind-blowing to have them at BRDCST. Their music will be based around the kora (West African harp) and Senegalese percussion.”
