Ancienne Belgique is a vibrant music temple in the heart of Brussels with a passion for young talent and established names. Niche and mainstream. Adventurous and genre-transcending. Through some 400 concerts and projects per year, we do our best to give more than 300,000 visitors an unforgettable experience. All this is managed by a motivated team of some 65 permanent staff.
To strengthen the hospitality team, we are looking for a ‘evening supervisor hospitality’.
Job description
As evening supervisor hospitality, you are the person responsible for the smooth operation of the concert venue’s bars. You work closely with the bar supervisor and the production manager.
Assignment
- You ensure a warm welcome for the students and volunteers. You make sure that everyone knows what is expected of them. You provide training for new employees.
- You brief, support and coach the bar supervisors.
- You are responsible for logistics and ensuring that all necessary materials are on hand.
- You remain present in the audience area at all times and assist where needed. You are also regularly scheduled as bar supervisor.
- You help to convey AB’s volunteer policy and integrity policy. You are alert for inappropriate behaviour and safeguard the welfare of students and volunteers.
- You report on incidents, infrastructure problems or stock status.
- You coordinate the opening and closing of the concert venue bars, in consultation with the production manager.
- You support the hospitality team with administrative tasks.
Profile
- You have hospitality experience; preferably in a coordinating role.
- You work proactively, hands-on and are solution-oriented.
- You have a positive and inclusive communication style, both with colleagues and with the public. You can express yourself easily in Dutch, French and English.
- You have a heart for Brussels, music, and AB in particular.
- You are available for evening shifts during the week and in the weekend. You are also prepared to take on an occasional nightlife-shift.
