Just a week to go before the AB closes its doors upon a well filled spring season in order to go spread, and discover, all sorts of other music. Before we roll up our sleeves again in September for the fall season, we’ll of course be treating you to a number of fine summer initiatives and free festivals: De Gulden Ontsporing on 11 July, Boterhammen in het Park and Feeërieën at the end of August.
Not only the AB itself, but also a number of performers, will be taking something of the AB with them when heading out to the summer festivals. So it happens that in two weeks time you’ll be able to get hold of 'Day Old Belgian Blues' from Kings Of Leon with the Humo in order to see what they’ll sound like at Rock Werchter. This CD is the live recording of their AB concert and until now it was only available in Australia.
Something more from down under: Last week Melbourne's finest, The Temper Trap strolled into the AB studio for their AB session. Take a quick look ahead to Pukkelpop here.
Also AB Artists In Residence The Sedan Vault and Selah Sue will be conquering the most impressive festivals this summer, even across borders. Progressive steamroller The Sedan Vault hasn’t lost its hardcore edge and can come and prove it this summer at Boomtown, Dour, Bruksel Live and Pukkelpop. Singer-songwriter Selah Sue, who doesn’t hide her love for 'black music', will be doing it at the likes of Couleur Café, Cactus, Pole Pole and Dranouter. Stronger still: both will appear at the Lowlands festival in The Netherlands, and Selah Sue will also be adding North Sea Jazz in Rotterdam to the itinerary, as well as festivals in Paris and Geneve.
