Trilogy live release concert!
Ā
Lady Linn aka Lien De Greef now has five full albums to her name. Over the years she has garnered a golden and a platinum album, 3 MIAās & a Radio 2 Summer Hit and re-confirmed that sheās an established name in the Belgian music scene.
Ā
Itās also long been no secret that her unique voice is suited to all sorts of music styles. That was once again proven in her new ātrilogyā, a series of three EPs āĀ āIām Fineā, āSea of Treesā and āNocturneā ā that each tell their own tale. The common theme throughout the 3 EPs: her deep affinity with jazz, soul and electronic dance. The first EP āIām Fineā was released in the spring, we have to wait a little longer for the other EPs.
Lady Linn is a songwriter who always works from emotions and you can feel that throughout the entire trilogy.
It turned out to be a very versatile trilogy, one in which she draws on a very diverse range of influences and in which she digs into musical history in a modern, original manner.
Ā
Musically, there is a clear evolution in the trilogy. The arrangements are sober and refined, with an almost fully electronic sound from Linnās JX-03 on the first EP āIām Fineā, with fine contributions from Gustaph, Gregory Frateur and producer Frederik Segers. On āSea of Treesā we head into the fuller sound of a complete band with the dreamy and warm analogue synths of Joris Caluwaerts. On āNocturneā we find an organic, energetic sixties sound with a starring role for her partner & bassist Filip Vandebril and partners in crime: The Magnificent Seven, Frederik Heirman as arranger and Jan Chantrain on the dials.
Ā
Live, as ever, Lady Linn is surrounded by her fantastic and versatile Magnificent Seven, but she also invites a few special guests: Gregory Frateur (singer of Dez Mona) and producer & singer-songwriter Gustaph will join her on stage.
Ā
The Magnificent Seven are: Stef Caers (piano), Filip Vandebril (bass), Simon Segers (drum), Yves Fernandez (trumpet), Marc De Maeseneer (saxophone), Frederik Heirman (trombone)
