Zita Swoon chieftain presents second solo album
Stef Kamil Carlens made his re-entry into the pop circuit with 'Stuck in the Status Quo' (‘17), a return to the pure musical beauty we know from the oeuvre of Zita Swoon. Stef Kamil Carlens never sat still after his breakthrough with dEUS in the ’90s. Namely, releasing 12 albums with Moondog Jr. and Zita Swoon and playing hundreds of concerts throughout Europe. SKC is also a fine artist, composer of film & theatre music, and a producer. He made a number of indomitable shows with Zita Swoon Group.
This fall he will be releaseing his second solo album and he will be accompanied on stage by Nicolas Rombouts (contrabass), Nel Ponsaers (keyboard), Alma Auer (harp) and Maarten Moesen (drums). On the menu: new and old work from his extensive repertoire, which extends from melancholy to super funky.
Kurt Overbergh: ‘The definitive history book about Belgian pop music is yet to see the light of day, but may I present myself as candidate to write the corpulent chapter on SKC?’
For fans of Bill Callahan, dEUS, Tom Waits, The Bony King Of Nowhere, Spinvis …
AB fun fact One day we will calculate his number of appearances at AB to the decimal. But, with a degree of accuracy, we bet that it quickly amounts to around about 20 times.
Fun fact In ’17, SKC played the role of dadaist superbly during a series of sold-out concerts by Kapitein Winokio.
