Double bill with Boysetsfire-frontman and big-name in the emo-scene.

After 20 years as lead singer of post-hardcore band Boysetsfire, Nathan Gray heads down the path of the solo career. Following on from a first (mainly acoustic) album 'Feral Hymns', his new recording 'Working Title' is again equipped with electric guitars. On this album, Nathan Gray mixes influences from Americana and melodic punk such as we know from The Gaslight Anthem, The Replacements, ...

When The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die first appeared on our radar, our radar was too small to display their entire name. They belong to the wave of emo bands from the early 2010s at Topshelf Records, aside the likes of Into It. Over It., Algernon Cadwallader and Everyone Everywhere. This seven-member band is inspired by groups like Sunny Day Real Estate, Cap'n Jazz, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Explosions In The Sky. This makes for heavy post-rock-infused emo tracks that completely carry you away. Support band on this fine double-bill evening will be melodic German punk-rock band Shoreline.

This concert is organised in collaboration with Flood Floorshows; they’ve been working on DIY-shows, a vinyl label and distro since 2011. As no other, they really have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the subgenres of punk, indie, emo and hardcore scenes. They have a personal approach for promoting events with national and international artists, always working around the three basic principles of passion, independence and amplification!

“We’re passionate about working out shows whereby we do our very best to offer young artists opportunities in the larger club circuit. By ‘independence’ we mainly mean that we don’t want to be weighed down by sponsors or permanent subsidies. In this way, we remain alert and active in our search for challenging and exciting new artists.” - Kristof Van den Eede, founder of Flood Floorshows.
