Workshop for future (female & non-binary) beatmakers & producers
Do you dream of one day being able to work as a dj or producer, but you’re lacking the skills and experience? No worries, as AB – together with youth organisation Entree – is organising workshops for future (female & non-binary) beatmakers & producers.
We use an inclusive definition of the word 'women' and are happy to welcome trans-, gender queer, intersex and non-binary folks.
FuturGrooves will provide the content for the workshops. This Brussels music school aims to promote contemporary music by way of a hands-on approach. With their workshops, they want to create a team spirit at every level of the musical and creative process. From production to distribution.
What to expect? First and foremost, a safe environment in which the basic knowledge of producing and composing can be learned. You’ll develop your technical skills and receive exercises to increase your creativity and help you find your own voice.
Learn from the best
The workshop is partly also made possible by Sabam and also those leading this workshop aren’t small fry either: Steffi Sturm, better known as UNOS, is an enigmatic and esoteric Belgian producer and DJ. She puts out music on the renowned ‘Darker Than Wax' label, Singapore’s most renowned electronic underground label. And then there’s Céline Gillain. She is a producer of experimental & electronic music, and is a visual & performance artist. Her debut album ‘Bad Woman’ was released in 2018 on Parisian label Drama.
