Gabriel Rios is terug met nieuw album!
After an intense 2024 with a new album and a tour that already took him to a sold-out AB in the spring and this autumn to a sold-out De Roma, among other venues, the future looks promising for Gabriel Rios. The most Belgian of Puerto Rican singer-songwriters decides to hit the concert halls again in 2025 with his new full-length album, playing at the iconic Ancienne Belgique on 11 March! Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Gabriel Rios settled in Belgium at the age of 17 to study painting at the Lucas School of Arts in Ghent. There he met artists such as Jo Bogaert (Technotronic), jazz pianist Jef Neve, Kobe Proesmans (The Colorist Orchestra), multi-instrumentalist/producer Ruben Samama and embarked on an exciting musical journey. As such, he releases a number of captivating albums ranging from Latin crooner/pop music on 'Ghostboy' to introspective singer-songwriter tracks on 'This Marauder's Midnight' and rediscovers Latin classics on his 2021 album 'Flore'.
With 'Playa Negra', his sixth album released on 20 September, Gabriel takes us on a tropical journey of montuno rhythms with a Cuban touch. His thirteen tracks, sung entirely in Spanish, again place his roots at the centre. He delves into his fundamental artistic influences with infectious pleasure, while managing to renew himself and reveal a new facet of his personality, both endearing and generous. Come and admire this unique artist again live at an exciting performance at AB on 11 March 2025!
This concert is a co-production between the AB and Live Nation.
