The Radar Station was born from the ashes of Barefoot And The Shoes and Sun Gods. The Radar Station creates their very own unique sound with rich, interwoven synth and guitar parts and layered drums: narrative, contemporary indie-rock à la The War On Drugs and The National, with echoes of the eighties-pop of Peter Gabriel and Daniel Lanois. Typical for the band is the remarkable, warm and hypnotic voice of singer Brent Buckler (which is entirely done justice live). They were crowned winners of the De Nieuwe Lichting 2020 in January, making their breakthrough only a matter of time.
WOLKER is the band of Gert-Jan Loobuyck from Ghent. Gert-Jan is an autodidact. As a child, he taught himself to play drums and piano. At the age of ten, he played guitar in his first band. But his world opened up completely when, as a teenager, Gert-Jan discovered his true passion in the recording of music. With limited options and much patience, he learned to inventively create the most perfect sound and acoustics possible. In 2019 , drummer Femke Decoene (The Very Very Danger, Juniper) joined him along the way and the last pieces of the puzzle fell into place. Femke is the right woman at the right time. With her along for the ride, Wolker sheds the skin of a ‘one-man-bedroom-project’ to become a real band with an own sound and image. They instantly makes an impression live as well – it would seem that the sky the limit for this fantastic duo.
Future Messiah is an alternative indie-rock band established around multi-instrumentalist Daan De Clerck. They’ve already managed to achieve their first success by being selected for Sound Track, where they also celebrated their live debut as a foursome. Now that the band is finally complete, they’re working hard on a first, very promising EP. What’s more, this year Future Messiah was selected for Humo's Rock Rally a second time. Their new single 'Dreamer' is still to be released this spring too.
